Letter from William and Rosa
Hello traveler.
We are Rosa Escandell and William Kikanae Ole Pere, sharing sunset and laughs in our beloved African savannah.
As you can imagine, we were born in two very different worlds, but life brought us together to share a dream: that the Maasai Community will be masters of their destiny. Like other indigenous communities around the world, our traditional way of life, herding and nomadism, is threatened and no longer allows us to survive.
The easiest thing to do would be to give up, but when you get to know us you will see that this is not our way.
In 2005 we created together ADCAM, a non-profit association that fights for the Maasai to have a future, with projects such as SAWA MARA, our sustainable Eco Lodge in Kenya, Nomads, a very special co-working, MARA VISION SCHOOL, our school-residence, and a cooperative in which more than 1,000 Maasai women work.

Rosa viajó a Kenia en busca de un proyecto de cooperación internacional relacionado con la mujer africana.
William Kikanae iba a Nairobi cada año durante muchos años, en un trayecto que duraba muchas horas o incluso días en busca de ayuda del gobierno o de alguien que le ayudase a llevar a cabo un sueño que tuvo desde niño. Crear una escuela en pleno Maasai Mara para los niños y niñas sin recursos y de ese modo estar ayudando a las mujeres y madres Masai, ya qué él no pudo tener esa educación completa pese al empeño de su madre que enfermó y murió prematuramente.
El destino les unió y en 2005 crearon Adcam (Asoc. Para el Desarrollo, Comercio Alternativo y Microcrédito) con mucho esfuerzo, Rosa desde su influencia, fondos y trabajo desde el hemisferio norte y en el terreno, William concienciando a su comunidad, buscando apoyos y el terreno adecuado. Se inició primeramente la escuela de primaria, actualmente con 250 niños y niñas de los cuales 80 viven en el internado de la escuela debido a la gran distancia con sus casas.
Tras la escuela, se creó el Women Project para que finalmente más de 1200 mujeres Masai entre Kenia y Tanzania tuvieran trabajo y fondos propios a través de microcrédito realizando artesanías Masais. Una vez estos proyectos vieron la luz y fueron desarrollados nació el Campamento Solidario Adcam, hoy Sawa Mara Eco Lodge que gracias a sus clientes, gracias a tí, se sustenta el 75% de la Ong y así poder crecer y ayudar a más niños, mujeres y guerreros Masai.

Es una mujer de negocios, emprendedora y filántropa. Está considerada una de las mujeres más influyentes en el mundo de los negocios en América, aunque abandera diversos proyectos a nivel internacional.

Son una pareja de fotógrafos de vida salvaje reconocidos y premiados internacionalmente, que están afincados en Kenya que cuentan con innumerables series y documentales.
Olivia Palermo
Actriz, modelo, socialité, empresaria y referente internacional en el mundo de la moda. Conocida por su influencia en la alta sociedad neoyorquina y por ser una de las más famosas it-girls a nivel mundial.
Bibi Russell
Bibi Russell, fue la primera mujer de Bangladesh que estudió en la Academia de Moda de Londres. Diseñó su propio desfile y recibió ofertas para trabajar con Yves Saint Laurent, Karl Lagerferld y Giorgio Armani.
